The Furniture Brat operates as a small furniture design and fabrication studio based in Minneapolis. Projects range from one-of-a-kind residential pieces to custom furniture developed for hospitality and commercial interiors. The studio emphasizes durable construction, thoughtful proportion, and materials selected for longevity rather than disposability.

I design and develop original furniture meant to be lived in, not just looked at. My work centers on proportion, longevity, and real-world function. Every piece is engineered to survive commercial use while still feeling right at home in a private space.

 

I grew up in a multi-generation upholstery and fabrication environment, in other words, I’m most definately a furniture brat. I don’t just design pieces, I understand how they’re built, repaired, and worn over time. Structure, materials, serviceability, and comfort are considered from the first sketch through final construction.​

I’m especially drawn to sustainable work, restoration, repurposing, and material choices that extend the life of furniture rather than replace it.

Whether creating a new piece or giving an overlooked one a second life, the goal is always the same:  ​Balance beauty, durability, and purpose.
